Put it in writing: contract basics
The five things every creative agreement should say, even when it is only an email.
Most disputes in creative work start with something nobody wrote down. A contract does not need to be long to protect you. It needs to be clear.
The five essentials Scope: exactly what you will make. Deliverables: the files, formats and number of pieces. Deadlines: for drafts, feedback and final delivery. Fee: the amount in TZS, the deposit and when the balance is due. Revisions: how many are included and what extras cost.
Protect your time Include a cancellation clause and a kill fee, so a client who stops the project still pays for work done. Never begin a large job on a verbal promise alone.
